Golf Industry Show 2016 – San Diego

By Grassgroup, February 23, 2016 10:44 am

This year saw the 2016 annual Golf Industry Show being hosted in the wonderful city of San Diego. Unlike last year’s freeze in Texas, we were blessed with gorgeous Californian sunshine…! Despite the incredible weather we still experienced a good, productive and busy show. The attendance figures that have been released show just how important this show is.

We were supporting our suppliers Progressive and Advanced Turf Technology. Progressive had a Proflex 120b painted in the new industry green on their stand as well as their remote controlled Slope-Pro mower. the ever popular Proflex was generating interest with its new colour and the economic advantages it boasts over other rough mowers.

As always, it was great to catch up with the Progressive team!

For the very first time Advanced Turf Technology (ATT) were exhibiting on their own stand with the full TMSystem range and the 22″ pedestrian INFiNiSystem. Luckily for Iain the puppy managed to refrain from chewing his passport and he was able to attend the show this year! We had a great time meeting existing customers and potential new ones.

Cub Cadet also had a 22″ INFiNiSystem on their stand as well as the ATT cutting units on their impressive robotic RG3 mower!

Overall it was a great show and the weather made it all the better. Shame we were welcomed back with snow last Monday at our head office!

Desso or Semi-Artificial? Upgrade to ATT

By Grassgroup, October 8, 2015 11:29 am

With the Rugby World Cup in full swing, we have seen the true skill of our groundsmen come to the forefront. The coverage shows the true effort of the work that is put in to achieving such great pitches. We just wish that England could have performed to the same level… but I mean… it’s not like we are bitter or anything!

This World Cup has seen the use of Desso pitches and semi-artificial pitches in grounds such as Twickenham and Murrayfield. As the Desso Grassmaster® is a hard wearing surface you will want to ensure you get maximum life and benefit fully from what it has to offer. Retaining the woven synthetic fibres whilst producing a health sward is essential. On a top of the league pitch it is necessary to use a machine that reflects this high quality. It is important not to settle for second best and upgrade to ATT.

The ATT product range goes hand in hand with the Desso Grassmaster hybrid system. It provides a phenomenally precise cut with our 0.1mm click adjuster and the ability to adjust the bed knife to reel by 0.028mm! Being able to change the attitude angles mean our ATT INFiNiSystem outperforms other manufacturers on this surface. Our 22″, 26″ and 30″ machines have cutting units independent to the traction drive so there is minimal ground pressure. this means the Desso synthetic fibres are not pressed into the rootzone. A clean, precise cut.

Unlike other machines, the design of the grass bucket and its positioning means that the grass goes in the bucket and remains there! With today’s modern surfaces, surface hygiene is paramount as rotting clippings will ad to the familiar problem of algae that is the bane of every groundsman.

So go for a machine that reflect the quality of your pitch and upgrade today.

To our RWC groundsmen, we salute you.

Its sno’w barrier – Harrogate a great success

By Grassgroup, February 28, 2013 8:45 pm

The Grass Group at BTME 2013

The BTME show was a great success in spite of the snow doing its best to disrupt transport countrywide.  There seemed to be very little drop off of visitors even though it was an “off” year and the big boys had not come out to play!  The INFiNiSystem was the main attraction as it presented  both bigger and smaller clubs with a complete range of options combining the use of the cassettes on a hybrid pedestrian and on greens triples.  Interest in the RotaDairon RD140 overseeder continued and we are looking forward to get demonstrating when the weather finally allows.  There was always greenkeepers around the JD tractor and TriloS3 outside which we had placed out the front of the hall for the smokers to look at!!
